Big Picture Science Questions

So I got a chance to serve on the LPSC planning committee and came up against an interesting dilemma: If you could custom design an LPSC session - what topic would it cover?

So as a preview the Mars sessions at LPSC feature:

Carbon on Mars - a collection of talks discussing carbonates, organics, methane, and atmospheric CO2.

Acid vs. Alkaline - The Noachian Hesperian transition. This explores the juxtaposition of acidic sediments onto smectite rich-clays. Did this represent a change in the martian environment or was something else going on...

What sessions would you design?

  1. These two that you listed are probably the most interesting to me. I would also like to see all science related to the crater-associated clays. Were Mawrth-like geologic settings much more widespread, but are now buried? And what is the origin of the Mawrth clays? This is DRo
